What does PBIS mean?
PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Interventions and Support. Greenwood Lakes Middle School’s PBIS mission is to foster proactive support focused on positive behaviors and prosocial skills, to encourage school wide collaborative relationships and prepare students for 21st century citizenship.
What does SOAR mean?
‘S’ stands for Show Respect, ‘O’ stands for Own Your Behavior, ‘A’ stands for Act Responsibly, ‘R’ stands for Reach for Your Personal Best. When students demonstrate one or more of these behaviors they earn SOAR Bucks. Students can earn SOAR Bucks from any faculty member on campus. Students can use their SOAR Bucks to buy items at “The Nest” (PBIS store). Students can also use their SOAR Bucks to attend PBS Quarterly Events. These events take place once every quarter, either during SOAR Time or after school.
